A brief update

I'm working on something Alliance orientated and practical at the moment, but god only knows when I'll finish it!

To tide you over, here are some sigs of my characters I made using a lovely generator:

And also a hilarious video that one of my guildies directed me to!

Shazkin, Night Elf Druid

Woops. It took a few more than a couple of days to post this...
Last month I posted pictures of an amigurumi draenei, based on it's World of Warcraft counterpart, and the pattern and inspiration generously supplied by the wonderful artoo1121

At the time, I promised I'd be fashioning my own character, the night elf druid Shazkin.

Well that day has finally come! Sorry it took so long to finish and upload, but I've been running all over the country these last 3 or 4 weeks, so haven't had much of a chance to sit down and finish her.

She doesn't have any accessories at the moment, as I seem to have run out of Fimo, and haven't bothered to leave the house to get more :P As a note: this includes her absent belt buckle. Woops!

I'll edit this post when I get around to making her some bits and pieces (like a hearthstone from before, and her Earthwarden hammer! Rawr!)

Like all good night elves, Shazkin likes to hang around in a natural surrounding...

I was thinking of making another model of Shazkin, but in her cat form. Does anyone know of any cute cat amigurumi patterns that I could take a lead from?

Thanks for looking!

WoW artworks

I'd like to draw your attention to the wondeful prints by etsy user Cowkitty. She does various fantasy style prints, but several of them are WoW related, and therefore relevant to mention here:

She's also done some ancient mythology drawings, and a great one of Wonder Women ;) They're inexpensive, too! Go take a look!

In other news, the amigurumi I'm working on at the moment is taking longer than first expected (probably because I'm a big slacker but also probably because I've been working on other things too!) but it should be up within the next couple of days! Watch this space.

For the Alliance! Or... for the Horde, if you're so inclined

Whilst browsing Etsy, I found some AWESOME handmade trinkets, by Mandyshaner. This, for the Horde:

And this, for the Alliance:

One thing strikes me though: Mandyshaner writes,
"Having done that, I've found a new reason to hate the Alliance: their symbol is too intricate! Hehe."
Which makes me wonder: why didn't she just use the Alliance's Lordaeon symbol, as shown on this shield?

Muuuuuch simpler. Anyway, kudos to Mandyshaner for her perserverence!

Crafty finds of the day

This is absolutely amazing, and definitely the final word in WarCRAFT:

"A group of German World of Warcraft fans has put together a stunning recreation of the Paladin's Tier 2 armor, aka the Judgement set. The group of professional craftsmen, known as BattleHeat, "spent several hundred hours" crafting the steel-and-leather armor, according to a great Q&A conducted by Warcraft's European site."

And this, from Craftster:

Absolutely brilliant ^^ Fills me with inspiration!

Desideratus

Based on the work of the wonderful artoo1121 whom I found through Craftster, I've started making amigurumi WoW characters! The first I have made is my friend Mark's character, Desideratus, a level 70 draenei shaman -

I'm quite pleased with how she turned out, as it's the first time I've done freeform amigurmi of this sort of calibre.

And here are her accesories: a heartstone, a mana potion and a penny for scale -

I've know what needs to be altered and improved, and I've already started on my second one!

Welcome!

Well, here we go: I've made a blog! This will be different from my regular blog (expect to see posts on it, for example!) in that it will feature only World of Warcraft related craft projects: I'll post ones that I've made/am making, and any spectular finds :)

Anyway, I hope you enjoy!

Loves,
Shazkin
